Portable Apps

These are programs that I have found useful. In some cases, the software listed above may be available as either an installable application or a portable application. Where possible, I have linked to the portable “no-install” versions, since those are what I prefer. This page is primarily for my own benefit, to make it easier for me to download the latest version of these programs, some of which are updated rather frequently.
The FileHippo.com Update Checker is a handy tool for finding out when new versions of certain applications are available. The results of this tool link directly to the latest version, but the links point to the executable installation program in most cases, so I created this page to make it easier to download the alternate portable versions of the programs that I use.
Semi-Portable Apps
These applications are not available as a single compressed file, but their installation program provides a portable option, so the application can be moved/copied elsewhere without breaking any links to other files or registry settings.
One more alternative to FileZilla is FTP Manager Pro. This is the best app to move files and folders between PC, FTP and android mobile devices. This app has made my work easier. I can now send files anywhere directly from my PC. Awesome app.

Thanks, Ben! FTP Manager Pro looks like a nice program. However it also appears that it’s only a 7 day free trial and it must be installed. My preference is for free and portable apps.
