TLI Letter

Dear Cyber Friends,TLI Letter Picture

Thanks for checking out my prayer letter. I’m very excited about attending The Laborer’s Institute and going to Thailand. Your prayers for me and the others who are going would be greatly appreciated. I’d love to share more with you about this trip. For more info, or just to chat, email me.

Ask anyone who has ever been on a short-term missions trip and they will tell you that every Christian should go on one if given the opportunity. I have always thought it would be neat, but never saw a good opportunity … until now. God has opened the door for me to go on a short-term missions trip to Thailand this summer. My original plan for the summer was to work a fifth session at General Electric as part of the cooperative education program at Purdue University in Fort Wayne where I am studying electrical engineering. The requirements for the co-op program are that I work three sessions; since I have already worked four, I will forego my fifth session in order to do something that I know will have a significant impact on my life and the lives of others.

The Laborer’s Institute (TLI) is a part of Kingdom Building Ministries (KBM), based in Denver, Colorado. I will be one of about twenty young people from across the US and Canada attending TLI this summer. TLI consists of three stages, as described in the TLI brochure enclosed. I hope you’ll take the time to read it. My team will be going to Thailand during the Ministry stage, and the other team is going to Northern India.

I’m very excited about attending TLI this summer. I wanted to share this experience with you, and I hope that you will participate along with me. I need as many people as possible to pray for me as I prepare for the summer, and during each of the three stages of the TLI ministry this summer. Some specific prayer requests are listed on the back of the brochure. Part of my preparations for the summer includes raising the money to cover the cost of the trip. I’m very thankful for my church, Fellowship Missionary Church, which is providing half of the $4,500 I need to raise. If you want to contribute financially, there are details for doing so in the TLI brochure. Not everyone is free to take a three month leave and go on a missions trip. But those who can’t can still invest in the lives of those who can, and can help further the Kingdom by making it possible for others to do what they cannot do.
